I just watched "No Reservations" with Catherine Zeta-Jones and Aaron Eckhart. What a happy-go-lucky movie! I laughed throughout the whole thing and even had a few chin quivers here and there. The best part though, was when Nick (Aaron's character) and Kate (Catherine) finally kissed. It wasn't even a big scene in the movie. Nick kissed Kate at the front door of her appartment; it was tasteful and romantic. Though, the best kiss was when he kissed her for the second time. They were sitting at a table after they had finished work at the restaurant, Nick had Kate blindfolded sitting across from her at the table. There was a pot fill with a sauce that he had put together for Kate to taste all ingrediates that were in the reciept. He brought the spoon dipped in the sauce and brought it to her lips. She ran off a few ingrediants and he brought the spoon to her mouth again. But this time, he took away as soon as it touched her lips. He took the spoon away and leaned towards to her to kiss her. It was the most romantic kiss ever! My heart melted.
How come these things only happen in movies? I would give anything to find a guy like Nick! Not to say that I'm looking, but I would not shy away from the opportunity if it presented itself. Are characters in movies suppose to resemble real life people? I guess thats the appeal to fiction, whether in movies, short stories or novels. The idea that these things do happen somewhere, gives us the wonder if it will ever happen to us. The imagination is endless but our imagination comes from something. If so, is "Nick" real?
